Tai Chi

Tai Chi (Taiji quan) directly translates as the supreme ultimate fist. It is an ancient Chinese exercise, consisting of slow and fast, explosive and relaxed movements.

For the body it is an exercise which helps develop power and flexibility with softness. For the mind it’s a study of concentration which increases will power and determination and also helps to calm the mind which in turn relaxes the body.

The twisting exercises which are developed through practice help to detoxify the internal organs and develop the core/stabilising muscles.

Tai Chi is part of the internal Chinese martial arts family which also consists of Bagua Zhang and Xingyi Quan.
